Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistant to join our team at a local school in Hillingdon. The successful candidate will provide support to children with special educational needs, ensuring their holistic progress and well-being.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Implement behaviour modification interventions to address specific issues raised by pastoral staff and/or subject teachers, with a focus on students with emotional or mental health needs.
  • Support the progress of individuals and small groups by facilitating emotional and behavioural support using various intervention strategies.
  • Deliver programmes of specific intervention, such as mental and emotional health, self-esteem, anger-management, and self-awareness, to groups and individuals.
  • Work with students to improve punctuality, attendance, and ease their return to school following prolonged absence.
  • Collaborate with the SENCO, teaching, and senior staff to implement agreed interventions and programmes of work.
  • Work with individuals and groups of students, having received prior information, to address current behavioural issues, academic levels, and reason for referral.
  • Create a calm and working atmosphere, minimizing disturbance and confrontation, while applying whole school expectations assertively and fairly.
Requirements:
  • Child workforce only DBS on the Update Service
  • Right to work in the UK
  • Previous SEND experience
