Accounting and Financial Reporting Associate Director

Job Purpose:
We are seeking an experienced Associate Director to lead our Accounting and Financial Reporting team in Manchester. As a senior member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for building, developing, and leading a team of experts, growing our advisory offering in the NorthWest, and instilling best practices and processes.
About the Role:
In this exciting opportunity, you will join our largest Accounting and Business Advisory team in the NorthWest, based in Manchester. As an Associate Director in the Accounting and Financial Reporting team, you will be responsible for leading the delivery of accounting and financial reporting services to a portfolio of clients. You will work closely with other service lines, such as Audit and Tax, and report to the client relationship Partner on matters of additional advisory and client care.
Responsibilities:
• Lead the delivery of accounting and financial reporting services to a portfolio of clients.
• Manage the working capital of projects, including budgeting, cost management, billing, and debt recoverability.
• Act as a senior team-member and leader in the team, acting as a role-model for more junior managers.
• Actively coach and develop team members, including acting as a line manager, mentor, and performing job appraisals.
• Participate in business development, contributing to growing the department and the firm by targeting and lead generation, supporting proposals to new clients, and agreeing projects with existing clients.
• Develop and maintain advanced technical knowledge through reading, courses, and CPD requirements.
• Oversee and review work completed by managers, supervisors, and assistants, ensuring firm policy and procedures are followed.
• Maintain awareness and observation of Health & Safety issues and report concerns to the Health and Safety Representative.
Requirements:
• ACA or ACCA qualified or equivalent, with a minimum of three years of experience at a manager level.
• Experience of managing a portfolio of client work within professional practice, with a strong accounting and financial reporting skillset.
• Excellent communication skills, with proven experience of building lasting client relationships.
• Adaptable and collaborative team player, able to work at all levels from trainee to Partner, with advanced coaching and development skills and experience as a line manager.
• Ability to make a positive contribution through business development, with excellent proficiency in MS Office products, including MS Word and MS Excel.
• Ability to deliver results autonomously, as a self-starter.
