Academics Ltd is a leading provider of educational services, dedicated to supporting children with complex needs. We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Psychology Graduate to join our team as a SEN Teaching Assistant in one of our Trauma/Mental Health Schools in Oxford.

Job Description

We are looking for an enthusiastic and adaptable individual who can provide high-quality support to children aged 5-11 with complex mental health needs. As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with our experienced therapists and psychologists to deliver tailored interventions and create a safe and nurturing environment for our students.

Your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting children with complex learning disabilities and mental health needs
  • Assisting in the development and implementation of individualized education plans (IEPs)
  • Working collaboratively with teachers and other professionals to ensure seamless delivery of care
  • Providing emotional support and guidance to students

You will be mentored and have the opportunity to shadow sessions and learn from our experienced team members. This role offers a fantastic opportunity to gain valuable experience working with Special Needs and Mental Health issues.

Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A degree in Child Psychology or a related field
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Experience working with children with complex needs (desirable)
  • Level 3 qualifications+ (e.g., BTEC, NVQ, etc.)
