Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing the tooling process from requirements capture through to delivery of the final solution
  • Supporting NPI, Production, and new Process line teams in all aspects of special to product tooling design, development, validation, and commissioning
  • Developing tooling concepts and robust designs to support manufacturing processes
  • Creating drawings as necessary for manufacture of parts to BS8888 standard
  • Working with supply chains to achieve effective Cost, Quality, and Delivery needs of the project
  • Supporting tooling process and planning activities within an agile scrum/sprint framework
  • Peer reviewing, signing off, design reviewing, and technically approving tooling designs
  • Providing feedback on lessons learned and continuous improvement to increase operational effectiveness and manufacturing process capability
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Engineering mechanical or manufacturing design qualification (HND, Degree, or Technical Apprenticeships)
  • Catia V5 CAD or Siemens NX
  • Windchill PLM or Teamcenter
  • Design for manufacture and rapid prototyping methods
  • Tooling design for production and automation lines
  • Drawing and GD&T to BS8888 or ISO standards
  • HSE tooling and lifting and handling standards
  • Basic project management and supply chain liaison
  • Problem-solving methodologies to determine root cause and corrective actions
  • Familiarity with Lean manufacturing principles
  • Ability to work autonomously and proactively
