At GenesisCare, we're seeking a highly skilled Medical Secretary to provide comprehensive secretarial support to our medical team. As a key member of our team, you'll play a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth operation of our clinic, handling enquiries, correspondence, and preparing letter correspondence following dictations.

The Role:

  • Schedule patient appointments and ensure timely sending of typed clinic dictations to relevant parties.
  • Manage referral letters, ensuring they're received and assessed daily, and that patients' pathways are expedited.
  • Coordinate and share diagnostic results with consultants, maintaining their diaries and agreeing on diary management systems.
  • Liaise with medical professionals, facilitating medical staff leave and communicating with relevant personnel.
  • Occasionally work outside core business hours to resolve sudden peaks in workload.
  • Adhere to company standards in appearance, behaviour, and demeanour.
  • Expedite clinic lists to external hospitals as necessary.
  • Carry out duties appropriate for this post and undertake continual professional development (CPD).

What You'll Have:

  • Significant experience in secretarial and/or clerical environments.
  • Experience in managing diaries and schedules.
  • Experience in referral triaging and booking processes.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • Professional telephone manner.
  • Ability to work to tight and conflicting deadlines.
  • RSA audio typing and typing or equivalent keyboard skills.
  • Medical terminology.
  • Able to demonstrate experience of working with Microsoft Office and databases.
