Job Title: Principal Projects Manager

About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced Principal Projects Manager to join our team at Warrington Borough Council. As a key member of our Transport for Warrington Service area, you will be responsible for the efficient and effective design and delivery of numerous projects in support of the Council's Local Transport Plan and capital investment programme.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the technical design, procurement, and supervision of a wide range of engineering and sustainable travel projects within the borough.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery and maintain professional standards.
  • Develop and implement effective project management strategies to meet project deadlines and budgets.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to colleagues and external partners.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in highway design projects, from initial concept to detailed design to construction on site.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to converse at ease with customers and provide advice in accurate spoken English.
  • Driving licence, as travel around the borough is an essential requirement of the position.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and often challenging environment.
