Job Title: Principal Projects Manager

About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced Principal Projects Manager to join our team at Warrington Borough Council. As a key member of our Transport for Warrington Service area, you will be responsible for the efficient and effective design and delivery of numerous projects in support of the Council's Local Transport Plan and capital investment programme.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the technical design, procurement, and supervision of a wide range of engineering and sustainable travel projects within the borough.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external bodies to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including residents, businesses, and community groups.
  • Provide technical expertise and guidance to colleagues and external partners.
  • Contribute to the development of the Council's transport strategy and policy.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in highway design projects, from initial concept to detailed design to construction on site.
  • Strong technical knowledge of transportation planning and engineering principles.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Ability to converse at ease with customers and provide advice in accurate spoken English.
  • Driving licence and ability to travel around the borough.
