Aberaeron, Cardiganshire, United Kingdom Ceredigion County Council Full time
About the Role

The Independent Safeguarding Reviewing Officer position offers a unique opportunity to work in a dynamic and committed Quality Assurance Team within the Safeguarding Service at Ceredigion County Council.

As part of our efforts to develop a Through Age Well-Being Model of social care provision, this role will focus on working with children, young people, and their families to ensure that care, support, and safeguarding interventions meet the highest standards and address their needs effectively.

The Independent Safeguarding Reviewing Officer will provide an independent statutory reviewing service for children being looked after by the Local Authority, chairing Initial and Review Child Protection Conferences, and developing robust Child Protection Plans for children at risk or experiencing abuse and/or neglect.

This role also involves undertaking Annual Foster/Kinship Carer Reviews and high-risk children in need of care and support reviews.

You will be part of a strong, committed multi-agency local and Regional Partnership way of working that strives to achieve the best quality outcomes for children and young people. The Local Authority is implementing the Signs of Safety Practice Framework.

  • Hybrid Working: You may choose to work from home or in an office location.
  • Flexi-time: Hours may be worked within a defined bandwidth, Monday to Friday, subject to service needs. Accrued credit hours can be taken as additional leave.

As part of this commitment, certain roles within our organisation require a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check to assess the suitability of candidates. This role will require an Enhanced DBS check. Please note that the presence of previous convictions will not necessarily disqualify a candidate from consideration for this position.
