Job Title: Master Technician

We are currently looking for an experienced Master Technician to join our team at the Institute of the Motor Industry. limited. As a skilled technician, you will be responsible for providing exceptional vehicle servicing and repair work, ensuring that all work is completed to the highest standards.

About the Job:

This is an exciting opportunity to work with a variety of vehicles, including internal and external customer vehicles. You will be responsible for investigating customer concerns using advanced diagnostic equipment and techniques, and for completing all work according to technical requirements, including preparing detailed technical reports.

Responsibilities:
  • Investigate customer concerns using advanced diagnostic equipment and techniques.
  • Complete all work according to technical requirements, including preparing detailed technical reports.
  • Read and understand all job cards before commencing work.
  • Report any additional work or parts needed to the Workshop Controller for customer authorisation before starting.
  • Ensure customer vehicles are protected from damage while in the workshop.
  • Complete necessary documentation for any warranty work and handle warranty displacement parts responsibly.
  • Ensure displaced parts for disposal are rendered unusable.
  • Maintain special tools and equipment in good condition, reporting any issues immediately.
  • Keep the work bay and surrounding areas clean and tidy.
  • Adhere to all safety policies and procedures.
  • Prepare accurate technical reports as per standards.
  • Perform all work to the highest standard, ensuring customer satisfaction.
  • Work efficiently, meeting performance metrics.
Compensation Package:

The compensation package for this position includes a competitive salary of approximately £48,000 - £58,000 per annum, plus benefits such as a full, clean UK driving licence and a willingness to work collaboratively in a team environment.

Requirements:
  • NVQ Level 3 Technician.
  • Preference for technicians trained to Master Technician or equivalent level.
  • IMI Level 4.
  • Previous experience with franchised dealer technical work.
  • Full, clean UK Driving Licence.
  • Ability to maintain a clean and organised workspace.
  • Willingness to work collaboratively in a team environment.
