Patent Analyst Role Summary

Newton Colmore is partnering with a dynamic research organisation in the UK to find a skilled Patient Analyst to join their Intellectual Property team.

This challenging role involves supporting teams in the UK and the US by developing and analysing comprehensive patent landscapes, monitoring and analysing competitor patent portfolios, and combining the outputs with other business analysis and intelligence.

The successful candidate will work closely with senior members of the IP team, focusing on;

* Developing patent search strategies and analysing results, either carrying out the searches or collaborating with third-party search companies and communicating the outputs to internal stakeholders.
* Arranging IP alerts and analysing competitor IP developments, and sharing findings with internal stakeholders.
* Supporting the Patent Engineers in delivering the IP Team's objectives.
* Maintaining IP department software licenses and serving as the primary liaison between the IP team and external search providers.

To be considered for this exciting role, you will need a good understanding of chemistry or biochemistry and its applications within science and technology. A recent PhD graduate is ideal, but we are open to MSc/BSc level scientists with prior IP experience. You should have a keen eye for detail and strong communication skills to perform detailed searches within a multidisciplinary team.

The company is looking for a scientist who shares a strong interest in research to play a pivotal role at the intersection of science, law, and technology. They offer a wide range of benefits, a good starting salary, and the chance to work on some really cool projects.
