Job Title: Principal Offshore Structures Engineer

Location: Basingstoke, Hampshire, United Kingdom

About the Role:

Our client, a leading international engineering company, is seeking a talented Principal Engineer to lead our offshore design team in Basingstoke, UK. As a key member of our engineering department, you will be responsible for overseeing structural analysis, providing technical guidance, and driving innovative solutions for offshore projects.

  1. Lead the offshore structural design team and plan their activities accordingly.
  2. Execute structural analysis for offshore substructures and topsides.
  3. Develop and evaluate technical solutions for offshore structures throughout the design process.
  4. Review technical documentation and analyses produced by the team.
  5. Liaise with other departments on project execution.
  6. Work with planners and project management to ensure project delivery within schedule.
Key Responsibilities:

As a Principal Engineer, you will be responsible for:

  • Leading the offshore structural design team and planning their activities.
  • Executing structural analysis for offshore substructures and topsides.
  • Developing and evaluating technical solutions for offshore structures.
  • Reviewing technical documentation and analyses produced by the team.
  • Liaising with other departments on project execution.
  • Working with planners and project management to ensure project delivery within schedule.
Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Strong experience in offshore structures analysis and design, adhering to industry standards.
  • Proficiency in creating and verifying FEM models for offshore structures.
  • Expertise in foundation system design, including piles and mud mats.
  • Experience in brownfield structure re-design, life extension, and reliability analysis.
  • Familiarity with non-linear analysis, blast, dropped objects, impact, redundancy, and pushover analysis.
  • Knowledge of offshore structural materials, fabrication, and installation aspects.
  • Experience in tender documentation for offshore structures design.
  • Willingness to travel abroad.
  • Proficiency in relevant computer tools.
