Microbiological Research Scientist Role

Haleon Oral Healthcare R&D team supports the development of leading global brands in Consumer Healthcare.

We are seeking a Microbiologist to join our OH Microbiology Research team as a key member. As a part of the team, you will be responsible for all microbiological aspects of R&D projects.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Conduct microbiological testing and provide knowledge and expertise to support the delivery of new products and product development.
  2. Collaborate with project teams to ensure microbiological aspects are considered throughout the project lifecycle.
  3. Develop and maintain a good understanding of business priorities and foresee potential issues.
  4. Ensure all microbiology testing is embedded in project plans and deliver results on time.
  5. Proactively identify new capabilities to support new launches and microbiological claims.
  6. Maintain a high level of technical proficiency as a microbiologist and drive to become a Subject Matter Expert.
  7. Develop test plans with Design of Experiments principles and maintain adherence to documented procedures.

Required Qualifications

  1. Bachelor of Science degree in Microbiology.
  2. Knowledge of microbiology, industrial microbiology, oral microbiology, biofilms, and antimicrobials and preservatives.

Required Skills and Experience

  1. Experience working in a microbiology laboratory, with independent design of experiments, testing, and research.
  2. Knowledge of product development process and microbiology requirements within Quality and compliance framework.
