Fire Engineer - Part-Time Opportunity

We are seeking a skilled Fire Engineer to join our team on a part-time basis. As a Fire Engineer, you will be responsible for conducting inspections on buildings over 11m in height, working alongside Environmental Health Officers to support investigations and drafting relevant notices under the Housing Act.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conducting inspections on buildings over 11m in height
  • Assessing external wall reports and fire risk assessments for residential buildings
  • Training non-fire engineer colleagues and providing guidance during inspections and enforcement stages
  • Establishing relationships with key stakeholders such as freeholders, managing agents, and residents
  • Responding to fire-related queries and liaising with enforcement officers and building control surveyors

To succeed in this role, you must have a honours degree in fire engineering or a related subject, along with membership grade with the Institution of Fire Engineers. Experience in fire safety enforcement or responding to enforcement by the fire authority is highly desirable.

This is a temporary position, offering an attractive hourly rate ranging from £30.22 to £38.98. If you're seeking a dynamic and fulfilling role where you can utilise your expertise in fire safety, we encourage you to apply.
