Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled individual to fill the position of Psychological Assistant - Mental Health Services at the North West Boroughs Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust. This role provides an excellent opportunity for a psychology graduate or postgraduate student to gain valuable experience in mental health settings.

The salary for this position is estimated to be around £30,000 - £38,000 per annum, based on the average UK salary range for similar roles. As a Psychological Assistant, you will work under the supervision of qualified clinical psychologists, assisting in the assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of clients with mental health issues.

Main Duties of the Job
  1. Assist in the administration of psychological assessments, including interviews, observations, and rating scales.
  2. Conduct one-to-one consultations with service users, working autonomously within the limits of your instruction and personal competence.
  3. Develop skills and competencies through engagement with CPD opportunities and self-guided learning.
Person Specification
  • An honours degree in psychology or a related field that satisfies the British Psychological Society criteria for Graduate Basis for Chartered Membership.
  • Postgraduate training in areas relevant to psychological practice, mental health, and/or research design and analysis.
