Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled Transport Planner to join our team at South East HGV. As a key member of our logistics team, you will play a crucial role in managing transportation operations and ensuring efficient logistics solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement effective transportation plans that meet customer requirements while optimizing costs.
- Manage logistics operations, including scheduling and route planning for deliveries.
- Coordinate with suppliers, drivers, and customers to ensure timely and efficient transportation services.
- Utilize computer literacy skills to maintain accurate records and documentation related to transportation activities.
- Monitor transportation performance metrics and identify areas for improvement.
- Provide exceptional customer service by addressing inquiries and resolving issues promptly.
- Collaborate with the supply chain team to align transportation strategies with overall business objectives.
- Prepare reports using Word and other software tools to communicate findings and recommendations.
Requirements
- Proficient in English with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Experience in logistics or supply chain management is preferred but not essential.
- Demonstrated customer service experience, with a focus on building relationships.
- Competent in using office software, particularly Microsoft Word, for documentation purposes.
- Ability to drive is advantageous for site visits or meetings as required.
- A proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to work under pressure.
