About the Role:


The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality patient care as an FCP within the MSK service and local GP practices in Greenwich.



Key Responsibilities:

  • To work as an FCP within the MSK service and local GP practices in Greenwich alongside other clinicians such as fellow physios, APPs, MSK Physicians and consultants.
  • To undertake highly specialised & comprehensive neuro-musculoskeletal assessments, of routine and complex patients.
  • To form accurate diagnoses, management plans and prognosis, using advanced clinical reasoning skills, knowledge of best current clinical and evidence based practice and assimilation/interpretation of clinical diagnostic tests
  • To independently refer for diagnostic procedures such as MRI, USS, X-Ray and NCS (after appropriate training/supervision if necessary)
  • To refer patients onto appropriate specialities within primary and secondary care
  • To communicate effectively and professionally with patients and medical colleagues regarding assessment, management and treatment choices
  • To supervise physiotherapists and MSK Practitioners in their provision of clinical care
  • To maintain a high standard of physiotherapy practice, working to the CSP 'Codes of Practice'
  • To be responsible for maintaining accurate and up to date patient notes and communicate outcomes with the referrer and other relevant healthcare professionals in an effective and timely manner
  • To produce timely and detailed clinical reports to other relevant healthcare professionals involved in the patients care
  • To participate, and be proactive, in undertaking regular clinical audits of the service as required by the lead clinician


Requirements:

  • Registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC)
  • Experience working at a senior physiotherapist level seeing patients in a musculoskeletal setting (equivalent B7 or 8a)
  • Evidence of continuing professional development in relevant clinical and management areas
  • Clinical leadership
  • Experience in ordering diagnostics/investigations & tests
  • Experience of clinical supervision / mentoring
  • Experience in Orthopaedics, Rheumatology and Chronic pain
  • Experience in managing a team


Desirable:

  • Previous experience of Telephone triage work.
  • Membership of MSK related clinical interest groups
  • Experience of working with both NHS and Private patient caseloads.
  • Membership of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy (MCSP)
