About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Systems Architect to join our team at Thales, a leading provider of advanced technology solutions for the defence and aerospace industries. As a key member of our Vehicle Optronics and Sensors Group, you will be responsible for designing and delivering complex systems that meet the needs of our customers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Define and recommend candidate architectures for vehicle systems, taking into account stakeholder expectations, technical and technological solutions, costs, risks, and schedule.
  • Establish the solution architecture by making trade-offs between stakeholder expectations, technical and technological solutions, and costs, risks, and schedule.
  • Plan work, using systems thinking to analyze problems, and manage, write, and verify technical requirements.
  • Produce technical reports and specifications, perform systems analyses, and meet milestones.
  • Work as part of a multi-disciplinary team to deliver successful programmes.
Requirements
  • Experience in systems engineering methodologies, including design, verification, validation, qualification, and acceptance.
  • Ability to derive system capabilities, functionalities, and behaviors using Model-Based Systems Engineering and SysML approaches.
  • Understanding of the different actors involved in projects and the ability to contextualize and change perspective.
  • Self-motivated and capable of working alone and with teams.
  • Proven experience in product design in an engineering or research environment.
  • Good communication skills and ability to produce documentation with clarity and precision.
  • Experience with IBM DOORS or equivalent requirements management tools, Enterprise Architect/Capella/Rhapsody or similar MBSE tools, and MATLAB or equivalent simulation/modelling tools.
