Culinary Support Assistant

We are seeking a dedicated Culinary Support Assistant to join our team at White House Care Home. As a key member of our kitchen staff, you will play a vital role in ensuring the preparation and delivery of high-quality meals to our residents.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the preparation of food, helping to get meals ready efficiently and to a high standard.
  • Maintain general cleanliness and tidiness in the kitchen area, including equipment and appliances, ensuring a hygienic environment.
  • Receive, check, and safely store kitchen deliveries, ensuring that all items are properly accounted for and stored.
  • Understand and implement safe food handling principles to ensure the highest standards of food safety are met.
  • Follow cleaning procedures for different surfaces and equipment, ensuring everything is sanitized and well-maintained.
  • Ensure that all areas are well-presented and maintained in good condition, contributing to a professional kitchen environment.
  • Practice safe systems of work across a range of tasks to minimize risks and ensure a safe working environment.
  • Understand and adhere to Health and Safety at Work legislation, always ensuring compliance and safety.
  • Act in a professional and courteous manner at all times, fostering a positive and respectful workplace.
  • Encourage and contribute to teamwork, supporting colleagues and working together effectively.
  • Take responsibility for the safe and tidy storage of supplies and equipment, in line with your area of work.
  • Read, understand, and adhere to company policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with all relevant guidelines.

Requirements:

  • Strong organizational skills to manage tasks efficiently and maintain a clean and orderly kitchen.
  • Basic understanding of food safety and handling principles.
  • Keen attention to detail for ensuring cleanliness, proper food storage, and accurate handling of deliveries.
  • Good communication skills to work effectively with kitchen staff and management.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team, contributing to a positive and productive kitchen environment.
