Main Job Responsibilities

As a Specialist Podiatrist, you will be responsible for providing clinical podiatric care to high-risk patients in the community, hospital, and domiciliary settings.

You will have autonomous responsibility for the specialist assessment of patients, including those with multiple pathologies, using clinical reasoning skills and diagnostic techniques.

Care is provided in the specialist areas of the service as required, including diabetes, biomechanics, nail surgery, and wound care.

This is an exciting opportunity to join our friendly and approachable Podiatry team at North East London NHS Foundation Trust.

As a Specialist Podiatrist, you will be part of a close-knit team that prides itself on its innovative and forward-thinking approach to podiatric care.

Our team uses the latest technology, including MolecuLight i:X technology and Toe Pressure Kits, to provide the best possible care to our patients.

Person SpecificationEssential Qualifications
  • BSc Diploma/Degree in Podiatric Medicine
  • Registration with HCPC
  • Prescription only medicines certificate (included in BSc degree from 2001)
  • Certificate in Local Anaesthesia (included in BSc degree)
Essential Experience
  • Minimum of 1 year working in the community as a podiatrist
  • Experience of communicating across internal and external boundaries
  • Experience of governance, quality, and audit
  • Experience of multi-agency working
