About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Bank Chef to join our team at Elysium Healthcare. As a Bank Chef, you will play a vital role in the kitchen, working closely with the Head Chef to ensure the smooth operation of the catering service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the Head Chef in the day-to-day running of the kitchen, maintaining good food storage procedures and stock rotation.
  • Prepare, plan, and cook meals to a consistently high standard, taking account of any special requests or dietary requirements.
  • Serve service users, staff, and visitors with food and beverage in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Prepare and produce food for conferences and banquets, adhering to the 'Safer Food Better Business' standards and record keeping.
  • Participate in food costings through effective cost control procedures, adhering to Food Hygiene Regulations and other safety procedures at all times.
  • Take full shift responsibility for the catering operation, assisting the Head Chef by researching and creating new menus.
  • Correctly fill all paperwork in relation to the Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point system (HACCP).
Requirements
  • Be 18 years or older.
  • Hold GCSE or equivalent English.
  • Hold City & Guilds 706/1 and 2 (or equivalent) Basic Food Preparation Cooking.
  • Hold Basic Food Hygiene.
  • Have a supervising qualification or be working towards one.
  • Have experience preparing and producing quality food to a high standard.
  • Have knowledge of menu planning and costing.
  • Have previous experience in delivering a service on mass.
