Job Summary
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Wildlife Care Specialist to join our team at the Association of British and Irish Wild Animal Keepers. As a Rhino Keeper, you will play a critical role in the conservation and care of our rhino population.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide exceptional care and husbandry to our rhino collection, including feeding, cleaning, and enclosure maintenance.
- Contribute to conservation education programs, including talks and encounters with the public.
- Collaborate with the team to develop and implement conservation strategies and in-situ programs.
- Participate in animal training and behavior modification programs.
- Assist with record keeping and data collection for animal health and welfare.
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of experience working with rhinos in a mainstream zoological collection.
- Valid full driving license.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Knowledge of health and safety protocols and procedures.
- Basic office software skills and understanding of ZIMS.
