Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Financial Analyst to join our Central Finance team at Stobart. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for supporting the central finance department in various tasks, including journal posting, month-end reconciliations, and business partnering with cost centre owners.

This is an excellent opportunity for an aspiring finance professional to build on their experience and develop new skills in a dynamic and fast-paced team. You will work closely with the finance team to prepare financial reports, manage financial data, and provide analytical support to business partners.

The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team. You will have a strong understanding of financial concepts and be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Financial Reporting: Prepare financial reports for central overhead cost centres, including profit and loss and balance sheet reporting.
  • Data Entry: Accurately enter financial data into accounting systems and maintain up-to-date financial records.
  • Budgeting and Forecasting: Prepare budgets and financial forecasts, monitoring actual performance against budgets.
  • Audit Support: Assist with internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and information.
  • Administrative Tasks: Perform general administrative duties, including managing the central mailbox and responding to queries from the wider business.

Requirements:

  • GCSEs including Maths and English at grade 5 or above.
  • AAT Level 4 or equivalent.
  • Part qualified CIMA/ACCA preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Professional attitude and appearance.
  • Reliable and punctual.
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality.
  • Full UK Driving licence and access to your own vehicle.
