About the Role

We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Assistant Educational Psychologist to join our team at Wirral Borough Council. As an Assistant Educational Psychologist, you will play a vital role in supporting the development of children and young people in our schools and settings.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work with children and young people to gather information and deliver interventions to support their educational and emotional needs.
  • Collaborate with colleagues within the EP Team to develop and implement innovative projects and initiatives.
  • Contribute to the development of the Emotionally Based School Avoidance (EBSA) Strategy and other initiatives such as the Delivering Better Value Project (DBV).
  • Provide training and supervision to Emotional Literacy Support Assistants (ELSA) and other staff members.
  • Work towards applying for Doctorate training in the future, should you wish to pursue this career path.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A degree in psychology recognised by the British Psychological Society (BPS).
  • Recent experience of working with children and young people.
