About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Credit Risk Specialist to join our team at Richard James Recruitment Specialists Ltd. As a key member of our Energy Trading division, you will be responsible for managing credit risk and ensuring the smooth operation of our gas trading business.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough credit risk assessments on existing and prospective counterparties
  • Develop and maintain a deep understanding of counterparty risk and gas trading industry trends
  • Liaise with internal stakeholders to ensure effective credit risk management
  • Prepare and submit credit applications for approval
  • Enhance internal processes and procedures to improve credit risk management
  • Recommend changes in credit limits and approval status to senior management
  • Monitor counterparty exposure and control credit status
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date counterparty records
  • Manage credit collateral and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements
Requirements
  • Degree-level qualification in a relevant field
  • Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office and advanced Excel skills
  • Solid understanding of counterparty risk and gas trading industry trends
  • Previous experience in credit risk management in oil, LNG, and shipping
  • 5+ years of experience in a physical trading environment with exposure to grid-based gas trading
