About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Building Performance Engineer to join our team at Arup, specializing in net zero carbon solutions. As a key member of our building engineering team, you will play a crucial role in decarbonizing existing client buildings and developing net zero carbon solutions for new build projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct reviews of existing buildings to identify potential decarbonisation opportunities
  • Author and check decarbonisation plans for existing buildings and net zero carbon roadmaps
  • Formulate energy strategy approaches for new build projects, working closely with other Arup specialists
  • Identify appropriate energy modelling approaches and interpret energy modelling results

Requirements

  • BEng, MEng, or MSC in Building Services Engineering, energy, or a related field
  • Good appreciation of UKGBC, LETI, and CIBSE publications and net zero approaches
  • Familiarity with the building energy modelling process and its effective implementation on projects
  • Background in contributing to design notes, reports, and general correspondence
  • Knowledge of key considerations at different building design stages, construction, and in-use
