About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Support Worker to join our dynamic and friendly team in Greenock. As a key member of our care team, you will be responsible for providing leadership and guidance to our support staff, ensuring that our services are delivered to the highest standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coach and mentor support staff to ensure they have the skills and knowledge needed to provide high-quality care.
  • Develop and implement person-centered support plans that meet the unique needs of our service users.
  • Work closely with our team manager to ensure that our services are aligned with our organization's values and goals.
  • Provide regular supervision and support to our support staff, including identifying training needs and opportunities for development.
  • Manage the monthly rotas, ensuring that all staff meet their contracted hours and that our services are delivered efficiently and effectively.
  • Participate in on-call duties on a rotational basis, providing support and guidance to our support staff as needed.
Requirements
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience of supporting individuals with mental health and learning disabilities.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to plan and prioritize workload effectively.
  • Good understanding of SSSC Codes of Practice and Health & Social Care Standards.
  • SVQ Level 3 in Social Services & Healthcare or willingness to work towards qualification.
  • Ability to build and maintain positive relationships with service users, families, healthcare professionals, and stakeholders.
  • Ability to motivate and lead others.
  • Desirable: experience of working with individuals who have autism and knowledge of positive behavior approaches to support.
