SEN Teaching Assistant Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join our team at our Royston site. As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students with special educational needs to reach their full potential.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide individualized support to students with special educational needs in both one-to-one and group settings.
  • Assist in the implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and monitor student progress.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes social, emotional, and academic growth.
  • Support teachers in creating and adapting learning materials to meet the needs of SEN students.
  • Assist with the physical, emotional, and social needs of students, promoting independence and self-esteem.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to develop and implement effective strategies for student success.
  • Participate in ongoing professional development and training to enhance your skills and knowledge.
Requirements:
  • Experience working with children with special educational needs is highly desirable.
  • A genuine passion for supporting and inspiring children with SEN.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Relevant qualifications or training in special educational needs (desirable but not essential).
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
