Job Summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Clinical Psychologist to join our team at the Camden Neurology and Stroke Service. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will play a vital role in providing specialist rehabilitation services to individuals with neurological conditions and physical disabilities.

Main Duties of the Job

The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality clinical services, including assessment, diagnosis, and treatment planning. You will work closely with our team of Speech and Language Therapists, Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists, and Rehabilitation Assistants to provide patient-centered, goal-focused therapy.

Job Responsibilities

The Camden Neurology and Stroke Service is committed to providing innovative and evidence-based services that meet the needs of our clients. As a Clinical Psychologist, you will be expected to contribute to the development and implementation of our service, working collaboratively with our multidisciplinary team to achieve our goals.

Person Specification

We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced Clinical Psychologist who possesses the following skills and qualifications:

  1. Appropriate qualification in Clinical Psychology as recognized by the British Psychological Society and HPC.
  2. Current registration with the Health Professions Council.

Desirable qualifications include interest in completing the Division of Neuropsychology Full Practitioner Membership Qualification.

Previous Experience

We are seeking a candidate with experience of working with clients across the lifespan, particularly older adults, and across a range of settings, including community, outpatient, and inpatient. You should have experience in the use and application of neuropsychological tests, working in a multi-disciplinary team, and working with adults with neurological disorders and physical disabilities.

Skills and Knowledge

The successful candidate will possess the following skills and knowledge:

  1. Skills in providing consultation to other professional and non-professional groups.
  2. Research methodology and service evaluation.

  3. Ability to make decisions and problem-solve when dealing in both routine and complex situations.
  4. Ability to identify and articulate own training needs.
  5. Ability to liaise with service managers and senior professional staff.
  6. Ability to prioritize and structure own workload.
  7. Good training and facilitation skills.
  8. Self-motivated.
  9. Ability to work constructively under pressure.
  10. Positive attitude to this work.
