Experienced procurement specialist sought for a leading UK Green Energy Company.

About the Role:

We are looking for an ambitious Senior Technical Buyer to join our growing business. The strategic role will be central to the purchase of goods, materials and services to ensure that our operational needs are met, taking into account price, quality and delivery and to ensure continuity of supply.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Bulk up and maintain a preferred supplier framework ensuring timely, cost-effective, and high-quality deliveries through regular audits and supply chain management techniques.
  • Purchase goods, materials, components, or services in line with specified cost, quality, and delivery targets, supporting departments across the business, including Operations, Project Development, and Engineering.
  • Ensure continuous supply of required goods and materials and communicate any supply problems that may pose a risk or impact on business operations.
  • Negotiate contracts, improved prices, and terms of business with suppliers and review opportunities to make business savings using negotiation and procurement best practice tools and methods.
  • Assess and evaluate suppliers, undertake performance reviews to ensure contract compliance, and manage performance improvement activities.
  • Maintain professional and consistent relationships with all suppliers across the business, acting as the source of truth for best practice from selection to contract management.
Key Requirements and Skills:
  • A relevant degree in business, commerce, manufacturing, or engineering (e.g., HNC, City & Guilds Licentiateship, BTec Higher Professional Diploma, or equivalent NVQ Level 4 qualifications).
  • Membership of Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply (CIPS) or progress towards certification.
  • Proven purchasing experience (more than 5 years), preferably within an energy or manufacturing environment.
  • Contract management and supplier experience.
  • Able to work independently and take initiative.
  • Excellent relationship management and interpersonal skills for establishing trust and building relationships with suppliers.
Benefits:

£60,000 - £80,000 per annum, depending on experience.
