Glasgow, Glasgow City, United Kingdom NHS Greater Glasgow & Clyde Full time

NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde is a leading healthcare provider in the UK, employing over 40,000 staff in various clinical and non-clinical roles. We deliver a wide range of services, including acute hospital, primary, community, and mental health care, to a population of over 1.15 million and a wider population of 2.2 million through our regional and national services.

The Community Respiratory Team is a dynamic and responsive multidisciplinary team that aims to support patients with moderate to severe COPD within Glasgow City in their own homes. The team consists of Physiotherapists, Nurses, OT, Pharmacist, Rehabilitation Support Worker, Business Support, and Leadership roles.

The team uses evidence-based practices to support three distinct intervention pathways:

1. Prevention of hospital admission (support for acute exacerbation)

2. Early supported discharge

3. Chronic disease management (rehabilitation and self-management)

As a Specialist Respiratory Physiotherapist, you will work autonomously within your scope of practice to make clinical judgments regarding patient prioritization and management. You will link with the Respiratory Early Supported Discharge team and hospital-based respiratory assessment services/respiratory nurse specialists.

To be successful in this role, you should have a degree in Physiotherapy, current HCPC registration, and at least one year of experience as a Band 5 physiotherapist. You should also have an interest in working in a respiratory team with COPD patients.

The shift pattern for this post is 29.7 hours over Monday to Friday, 8:30 am to 4:30 pm. This post requires membership of Disclosure Scotland's PVG.

NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde encourages applications from all sections of the community and promotes a culture of inclusion. We are proud of our diverse workforce and support applications from across the Armed Forces Community.

We are committed to being a Forces Friendly Employer and recognize military skills, experience, and qualifications during the recruitment and selection process.

Please note that NHS Scotland is reducing its full-time working week from 37.5 to 37 hours per week from 1 April 2024, with no change in pay. This reduction will also be applied pro rata for part-time staff.
