We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Senior Clinical Education Lead to join our team at University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our Practice Placement Team, you will play a vital role in shaping the future of pre-registration education and ensuring that our students receive the highest quality clinical learning experiences.
Key Responsibilities- Provide senior leadership and management for the Practice Placement Team, ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient care through teaching, assessing, and supervising Practice Supervisors and Practice Assessors.
- Shaping and supporting inter-disciplinary models of practice learning, creating new placement opportunities, and increasing student capacity.
- Monitoring team/placement quality standards and Key Performance Indicators to enhance student satisfaction and learning experiences, in line with NMC, NHSE, and CQC requirements.
- Ensuring organisational readiness for providing practice supervision and assessment, to develop competent practitioners who are fit for practice.
- Working collaboratively with local AEI partners and BSol ICB/ICS organisations, in delivering the NHSE LTWP priorities.
- Registered Practitioner; Nurse, AHP, or Midwife.
- Master's level education or equivalent in experience in a related field (education).
- Teaching Qualification (PGCE) or equivalent experience.
- Significant recent experience working in the NHS at a senior level and knowledge of current issues.
- Broad knowledge of nursing, AHP, and Midwifery education delivery and assessment requirements within the NHS.
- Understanding the needs of pre-registration students and managing/co-ordinating placement activity.
- Working with a wide range of educational stakeholders, including AEIs.
- Experience in leading preparation of evidence for regulatory reviews NMC, NHSE, CQC.
- Significant clinical education experience, and implementation of projects, and programmes of work in a large complex organisation.
- Leading innovation in education and developing new initiatives.
- Knowledge of project management and research methodologies and ability to translate recommendations into practice.
- Senior leadership experience and knowledge in organisational change management, successful delivery of projects.
- In-depth knowledge of quality assurance methodologies from an education perspective.
- Experienced in staff management.
- Experience in negotiation.
