About the Role

The Royal Orthopaedic Hospital NHS Foundation Trust is seeking an experienced Clinical Lead to join our dynamic senior pharmacy team. As a key member of the pharmacy department, you will be responsible for delivering a high-quality and clinically robust service to wards and other clinical areas, with a focus on achieving clinical excellence.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and deliver the day-to-day clinical pharmacy service to surgical wards through a team approach across the service.
  • Develop a comprehensive set of Clinical Pharmacy KPIs to provide assurance on the quality and effectiveness of the clinical pharmacy service within pharmacy and to the wider trust.
  • Support the Chief and Deputy Chief pharmacists in the development and implementation of the Trust's Medicines policies, systems and processes.
  • Lead on clinical service development and providing support to the wider trust initiatives regarding medicines, as well as working with other colleagues such as the MSO, antimicrobial pharmacist and education lead pharmacist.
  • Act as a senior leader within the pharmacy department, deputising for the Chief/Deputy Chief pharmacist as required.
  • Provide leadership and supervision and mentoring to Foundation Pharmacists and Band 6/7 Clinical Pharmacists.
  • Act as a line manager and educational supervisor.
  • Undertake research, audits and development activities in Medicines Optimisation, Prescribing and Pharmacy practice, to help ensure continual progression of services and ensure that Nationally agreed targets are reached.
