Project Manager / Design Manager

Think Recruitment is working with a busy, multi-disciplinary engineering consultancy that requires a Project Manager / Design Manager to oversee the design process for various highway, railway, bridge, and buildings projects.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage the design process from planning application to project completion.
  • Lead the design team, ensuring workloads are managed and work packages are planned effectively.
  • Develop and manage project timelines, assign tasks, and monitor progress to meet milestones.
  • Manage project budgets, ensuring projects are delivered within budget constraints.
  • Ensure compliance with health & safety and CDM regulations.
  • Develop strong written, verbal, and presentation skills.
  • Experience with Primavera P6 and NEC Contracts is desirable but not essential.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities:
  • Control the design process, from planning application through to project completion.
  • Manage design team workloads and the planning of work packages.
  • Manage the design scope, quality, and project timelines to achieve project milestones.
  • Set up and manage drawing issue registers and work package submissions.
  • Track project deliverables against the design programme/schedules.
  • Ensure design programmes/schedules are kept up to date.
  • Ensure design teams prepare work packages in accordance with Employers Requirements.
  • Proactively manage project risks and opportunities.
  • Quality control and ensure compliance with ISO accreditation to maintain business credentials.
  • Define project scope and assist in production of tender documentation.
