Rural Property Coordinator

We are seeking a highly organized and experienced commercial property legal secretary to join our busy team in central Reading. This is a great opportunity for a motivated individual to support two partners and contribute to the smooth running of our office.
About the Role:
- Provide administrative support, including typing, correcting, and amending legal correspondence and documentation with high accuracy.
- Manage case/client files, create new files, and maintain familiarity with lawyer's clients and cases.
- Answer internal and external telephone calls professionally and take efficient messages.
- Update diaries and meeting rooms as necessary.
- In the solicitor's absence, check post/voice mail and email to ensure urgent matters are addressed.
- Provide holiday/absence and pressure cover for other secretaries as needed.
- Prepare client bills for lawyer review and approval, and undertake chargeable work as directed.
- Familiarize yourself with and adhere to firm's policies and procedures.
- Undertake all tasks to ensure a smooth office operation.
- Amend leases, contracts, and reports, collate documentation, and obtain precedents from books or online.
- Handle Land Registry applications and prepare draft SDLT returns.
- Conduct monthly billing, including preparation for narratives, letters, and emails.
- Manage monthly reporting for major clients and update deeds bible.
Key Requirements:
- Prior commercial property experience.
- RSA stage 1 or 2, minimum 60wpm with 80% accuracy, audio, and copy typing skills.
- Excellent written and spoken English, polite professional telephone skills.
- Good working knowledge of Word.
- Specialist property legal experience and good general secretarial experience essential.
- A team player.
- Well-organized.
- Flexible – willingness to work late if needed.
- Able to work effectively under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Able to adapt to new technologies and working methods.
- Pro-active and able to use initiative.
Salary: £30,000 per annum, based on experience.
