MPC Engineer Job Description
About the Role:
SMT GB is seeking a skilled MPC Engineer to join our team in Immingham. As an MPC Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest standards of machine preparation and inline inspection.
Main Responsibilities:
- Pre-Delivery Inspection and Local Preparation: Conduct thorough pre-delivery inspections and local preparations, including fitting buckets, vandal guards, q-fits, radios, reverse cameras, and any optional extras.
- Quality Control: Ensure all machines are checked according to the Pre-Delivery Inspection and Extras sheet.
- Time Management: Carry out all work in line with time guides, highlighting additional work required to the Supervisor.
- Software Updates: Install software updates as new versions are released.
- Accurate Record Keeping: Complete systems and paperwork accurately.
- Personal Digital Assistance: Complete Personal Digital Assistance inputs in real-time, providing comprehensive details of work undertaken.
- Health and Safety: Operate within the guidelines of the Health & Safety at Work Act and adhere to all COSHH regulations.
- Technical Support: Assist and coach colleagues with technical support where necessary.
- Training and Development: Be prepared to work with Trainees as a coach, mentor, and guide when required.
- Flexibility: Be flexible to work overtime as and when necessary.
- Product Training: Attend relevant product or systems training courses, staying away from home if required, to ensure a high standard of competence.
Requirements:

- Basic IT literacy, including the ability to use email.
- High standards and attention to detail.
Education and Professional Qualifications:
- A formal engineering qualification in Plant Maintenance, Agricultural/HGV mechanics (i.e., NVQ 2/C&G).
- Relevant experience in the preparation and repair of heavy construction plant, including hydraulics and electrics or Plant and Equipment.
- Desirable: Welding ability.
