As a Senior Casualty Treaty Underwriter at Gen Re, you will be responsible for assessing and underwriting risks in the Casualty sector, including Public and Product Liability, Employers Liability, and Financial Lines. You will work closely with the London Treaty Chief Underwriter to manage reinsurance business in accordance with underwriting authorities and client strategies.
Your Key Responsibilities- Underwrite and accept Casualty treaties, including premium calculation and deciding on terms and conditions in accordance with underwriting guidelines, internal directives, targets, and client strategies.
- Conduct negotiations and support in maintaining relationships with clients and brokers.
- Service client accounts and tap new business potential.
- Administer contracts assigned, including exposure monitoring and liability/accumulation assessment.
- Perform result and portfolio analysis and prepare line of business reports.
- Develop and implement a strategy for the London Casualty Treaty book, participating in planning and controlling activities.
- Assume special tasks, participate in local and group-wide international working groups and projects, and participate in reviews, training of staff, and contributing to market events.
We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced individual with a university degree in an economic, scientific, or law-related discipline. You should have a minimum of 3 years of experience in Casualty insurance and knowledge of reinsurance. You should be highly conversant with IT systems, proficient with relevant underwriting and rating tools/risk modeling, and have great team-working, business development, negotiation, and communication skills. You should also have a strong entrepreneurial spirit, proactivity, and ability to work under pressure and with a multitasking approach.
