Job Description

Charity People is partnering with a charity to recruit a Communications Manager to join their team. This role plays a key part in supporting those diagnosed with ovarian cancer and their families.

The successful candidate will lead a small team of staff members to strategically manage the charity's external communications, brand, and public image. The role is offered on a full (35 hours per week) or part time (28 hours per week) basis with lots of flexibility around working hours and location.

The salary for this position is approximately £42,250, which includes benefits such as 25-day annual leave entitlement and flexible working arrangements.

The Communications Manager will be responsible for managing the charity's external communications, including:

  • Working with other staff to agree a communications strategy to meet audiences' needs and increase reach, acquisition, and retention of service users and supporters.
  • Planning and delivering high quality and timely communications driven by organisational mission and goals, and managing communications projects from start to end.
  • Tracking performance on all communications channels, measuring impact, and suggesting alterations to the approach.
  • Creating engaging and relevant content for web, social media, and email marketing, as well as paid channels.

The ideal candidate will have experience of managing communications across multiple platforms, working across a team and with contractors to populate content and launch a new website. They will also have demonstrable experience of strategic communications planning, media relations, and stakeholder relations.
