SEN Teaching Assistant Role in Croydon

Ribbons & Reeves is seeking a dedicated and passionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join a popular and inclusive Croydon Primary School. This is an excellent opportunity for an aspiring psychologist or primary teacher to gain a year of practical child-centred experience.

About the Role

The successful candidate will support the learning and social development of children aged 4-11 with cognitive and neurological conditions, including ASC, ADHD, Aspergers, and Global Delay. As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with the school's SENCo to formulate EHCPs and monitor progress.

Requirements
  • A minimum of a 2:1 degree in a relevant subject, such as Psychology, Criminology, SEN, Early Childhood Studies, or Education Studies.
  • Experience working with children with SEN, ideally on a 1:1 basis or in a whole class setting.
  • Desirable skills include Makaton, PECS, or Team Teach training.
  • Flexibility, proactivity, and patience are essential.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team.
  • Commitment to working full-time from September 2022 to July 2023.
