Family Support Specialist

Longdon Hall School is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Family Support Worker to join our team. This role plays a vital part in supporting families facing challenging circumstances, ensuring the well-being of children and fostering positive outcomes for all involved.
As a Family Support Worker, you will provide a range of essential services, including emotional and practical support to parents and their families. Your responsibilities will encompass building trusting relationships with families, facilitating communication with local resources and community organizations, and assisting in the implementation of Early Help Assessments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Offer comprehensive emotional and practical support to families within their homes, communities, or during school-based family support evenings.
- Cultivate strong, trusting relationships with parents and young people, aiming to alleviate social isolation and empower them to build resilience.
- Collaborate with pupils to facilitate a smooth transition back into the school environment.
- Develop a thorough understanding of available local resources and community services, including Mental Health Teams, Social Services, Health, CAMHS, Schools, voluntary organizations, and Rights for Pupils. Effectively communicate with these entities to advocate for the best interests of each child and family.
- Provide active support in conducting Early Help Assessments and implementing their plans within the school setting.
