Salary: £12.90 per hour

About the Role:

We are seeking a dedicated and resilient individual to assist students with behavioural difficulties within a secondary school in Newport. As a Behavioural Support Assistant, you will play a critical role in helping students overcome social obstacles and achieve academic success.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide 1:1 and small group support to challenging students with behavioural difficulties to assist with social and academic success.
  • Foster a strong bond with student/s to establish a positive relationship and maintain trust.
  • Initiate behavioural coping mechanisms that help students make good choices and reflect on their actions.
  • Ensure safeguarding regulations are maintained throughout the school day.
  • Contribute to the creation of a calm and conductive learning environment by promptly and effectively handling any disruptions.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with children/young people who have had behavioural management needs is desirable.
  • DBS and Education Workforce Council (EWC) registration is needed – Teaching Personnel can assist you with applying for these.
