Clinical Support Worker/Diversional Therapist

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Clinical Support Worker/Diversional Therapist to join our team at Walsall Palliative Care Centre. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide high-quality patient care and support to individuals with life-limiting conditions.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver individualized care and support to patients, including hygiene care, nutrition, and hydration, continence care, and mobility and rehabilitation.
- Plan, coordinate, and facilitate diversional activities, including options for patients with disabilities, working closely with qualified staff for support and development.
- Assist in taking and recording patient observations and report changes to patient health status to trained nurses for action.
- Support registered nursing staff with clinical treatments and investigations, including escorting patients to other departments within the centre and off-site.
- Record diversional therapy and clinical input in patient care plans with clear and concise notes.
- Assist in maintaining general clerical activities to support the clinical environment and patient care, including answering the telephone, taking and passing on messages, filing, and keeping patient records tidy.
- Support registered nursing staff in ensuring communication systems meet the needs of patient carers and staff.
- Update notice boards and leaflet racks.
- Attend staff meetings and act as a ward representative at specific meetings as requested.
- Maintain confidentiality in relation to patient information obtained verbally, written, or electronically.
To be successful in this role, you will need to be caring, compassionate, organized, reliable, and have a genuine interest in working with palliative patients in a specialist Day Hospice environment.
