Job Title: Head of Apprenticeships and Curriculum Development

Location: Eastbourne Campus or hybrid/cross-college

Job Type: Full-time, 37 hours/week

About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced and innovative leader to join our team as Head of Apprenticeships and Curriculum Development. As a key member of our senior leadership team, you will be responsible for leading and managing the work of curriculum teams to prepare and deliver high-quality teaching and learning.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide effective line management of all teaching staff in curriculum areas, including target setting, performance management reviews, and staff development.
  • Lead and coordinate the curriculum team to effectively plan for learning and curriculum design, and to quality assure teaching, learning, and assessment.
  • Lead and coordinate the curriculum team in monitoring and improving learner attendance, behavior, progress, and attainment, including all elements of their Study Programme, such as English, Maths, and employability.
  • Play an active role in quality assurance for the curriculum area, including lesson observations, learning walks, course reviews, and self-assessment, and the development and monitoring of a robust area quality improvement plan.
  • Assist and support the Assistant Principal in regularly reviewing and innovating the curriculum area offer for 16-18 Study Programmes, Adult provision, full-cost and commercial, Higher Education, and Apprenticeships, ensuring the college meets local, regional, and national skills needs.
  • Quality assure key documentation and processes, including Curriculum Intent Forms, Skills Pyramids, Schemes of Work, teacher assessment, marking, and feedback, and Progress reviews.

Requirements:

  • Level 2 English and Maths
  • A broad understanding of the current and future Further Education funding landscape
