Opportunity Overview

We are seeking a co-founder to join our team at Deep Science Ventures in tackling the climate crisis. Our mission is to create a future where both humans and the planet can thrive.

As a co-founder, you will work closely with our team to co-found and spin-out a new company focused on geologically secure CO2 storage. This is a critical step in addressing the challenge of enabling secure and scalable geological CO2 storage.

Our business model is to provide permanent and verifiable storage for the >500 Gt of CO2 captured from negative emissions pathways and industrial emissions. We've worked backwards from the requirement of a geological CO2 storage approach that is inherently secure and scalable.

We are looking for a co-founder with leadership skills, who is motivated to tackle the climate crisis. Ideally, you will have experience in building and scaling organisations, fundraising, corporate governance, and board reporting. You should also have strong relationships with relevant government, regulatory, and research institutions, as well as a broad knowledge of the energy transition and climate-tech sectors.

Key Responsibilities
  • Co-found and spin-out a new company focused on geologically secure CO2 storage
  • Work closely with the DSV team and the current Founder in Residence for this area
  • Develop and implement a business plan for the new company
  • Fundraise and secure pre-seed investment for the new company
  • Recruit and lead a team of experts in the field of CO2 storage
