At AIG, we're reimagining the way we help customers manage risk. As a Senior Trade Credit Underwriter, you'll play a key role in our UK Strategic and Multinational Trade Credit team, working with the world's largest companies to help them navigate credit exposures.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage a portfolio of excess of loss (XOL) clients, setting buyer credit limits and negotiating commercial terms
  • Support new business Underwriters on ambitious growth targets, developing relationships with brokers and clients
  • Assess specific counterparts and their financial statements to set agreed credit limits
  • Negotiate commercial terms with clients at year-end renewals and during mid-point of policies
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with key broking partners
  • Work with clients to improve their credit management and steer them clear of bad debts
  • Underwrite to an agreed acceptable loss ratio
  • Stay up-to-date with sector, economic, and political risk trends
  • Collaborate with the head of Strategic & Multinational in the UK on budgeting and reporting

What We're Looking For:

  • A good understanding of financial assessment, including profit and loss, balance sheet, and cash flow analysis
  • Proven business acumen and successful commercial career experiences with multinational programs, MN companies, and global brokers
  • Good understanding of Trade Credit, wordings, processes, and documentation
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills
  • Ability to perform data analytics, including competence in mathematics and Microsoft Excel
  • Strong team ethics and analytical problem-solving skills
