About this Exciting Opportunity

An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Senior Finance Business Partner to join our team in Derby, Raynesway.

This is a 12-month maternity cover secondment opportunity for a Senior Finance Business Partner in Future Programmes and Engineering Function based at Raynesway. The role will report directly to the Head of Finance Business Partner Future Programmes and Engineering Function.

Key Responsibilities
  • As a key member of our finance team, you will provide financial leadership to the senior management team, ensuring that key financial commitments are met.
  • You will contribute to key decision making and implement changes to ensure the successful execution of financial strategies.
  • You will develop and maintain a strong understanding of the new Unity contract, promoting good cost control across Future Programmes and the Engineering Function.
  • You will produce business forecasts that are balanced, challenging and supported by coherent assumptions.
  • You will evaluate Business Evaluation forms and provide support to the Senior Finance Business Partner regarding new business bids.
  • You will interface with customers through provision of cost forecasts, agreement of payment plans and other performance reviews.
  • You will liaise with statutory auditors to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • You will be responsible for Future Programmes Profit and Loss and Balance Sheet control and fidelity, pre review and sign off by the Senior Finance Business Partner.
  • You will promote financial awareness within the business, encouraging a culture of transparency and accountability.
  • You will build and maintain relationships with senior managers, fostering a collaborative and supportive work environment.
  • You will develop a continuous improvement culture within the business, championing compliance and the sustainment of good quality data.
Requirements
  • Hold a qualified accounting designation (ACA, CIMA, ACCA)
  • Demonstrate a good understanding of business strategy and the external environment
  • Have experience interfacing with customers
  • Possess extensive knowledge of business risk management and long-term contract trading
  • Demonstrate strong communication skills and the ability to negotiate confidently
Salary: £65,000 per annum
