Job Summary

University Hospital Southampton NHS Trust is seeking a highly motivated and dedicated Clinical Fellow to join our Neurological Intensive Care Unit. As a Clinical Fellow, you will have the opportunity to work with a multidisciplinary team of experts in neurointensive care, providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the development of our unit.

Main Duties

The successful candidate will be responsible for participating in a 1 in 9 full shift rota, working closely with our dedicated Consultant team to provide exceptional patient care. You will have the opportunity to gain experience in the care of critically ill neurological patients, including those with severe brain and spinal injuries, subarachnoid hemorrhages, and other complex conditions.

You will also have the opportunity to participate in ongoing clinical research trials, present at regional, national, and international meetings, and contribute to the development of our unit's educational programs.

Person Specification

The successful candidate will have:

  • MBBS or equivalent qualification
  • Full GMC registration
  • 2 years' experience as a doctor since gaining medical degree
  • Completion of UK Foundation Training or equivalent
  • Previous experience in acute specialty or NHS Intensive Care
