Job Description

We are looking for a talented Consultant Cardiologist to join our team at Mersey and West Lancashire Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in heart failure and complex implantable cardiac devices.

The postholder will be responsible for working closely with the Heart Failure and pacing teams to capture patients requiring complex pacing devices and direct them for appropriate timely therapy in collaboration with the consultants and colleagues at LHCH.

Key Responsibilities

  • To perform modern cardiac pacing procedures, including brady-pacing, CRT, and ICD implantation.
  • To manage patients on the Coronary Care Unit while on call and the cardiology ward during routine inpatient care.
  • To take a lead role in developing and implementing strategies to improve patient outcomes.

Requirements

  • Full GMC registration and on Specialist Register or within six months of receipt of Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) or equivalent at time of interview.
  • MBBS or equivalent medical qualification.
  • MRCP or equivalent medical qualification.
  • MD/PHD or equivalent medical qualification.

What We Offer

We offer a competitive salary range of £105,504 - £139,882 per annum, plus 3% On-Call supplement.
