Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our team at Synchro Recruitment. As an Area Commercial Manager/Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will play a crucial role in supporting the commercial and contractual management of a portfolio of telecoms projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Commercial Resource Management: Manage the commercial resources of your assigned projects, ensuring effective planning and control of expenditure.
- Project Variations: Authorize and submit project variations, ensuring compliance with contract terms and statutory requirements.
- Risk Mitigation: Assess, review, and mitigate commercial and contractual risks, providing expert advice to stakeholders.
- Expertise Provision: Provide commercial and contractual expertise, including valuation certification, correspondence, claims, budget monitoring, and performance data.
- Cost and Value Data: Provide accurate cost and value data at both project and regional levels, supporting informed decision-making.
- Team Development: Coach, develop, and mentor junior team members, promoting a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
Key Skills & Experience
- Commercial Management: Proven experience in senior commercial management and contractor procurement, with a working knowledge of NEC3 ECC forms.
- Industry Background: A background in telecoms, civil engineering, or utilities is highly desirable.
- Negotiation Skills: Effective negotiation with suppliers and partners, finding alternate solutions and resolving issues within contractual terms.
- Project Oversight: Experience overseeing large capital expenditure projects, ensuring successful delivery and stakeholder satisfaction.
- Data Analysis: Ability to use data for financial reporting with actionable insights and strategic focus.
- Educational Qualification: HNC/HND level education, or equivalent.
Location: Sussex, with a hybrid working arrangement and regular visits to our nearest office.
