Job Title: Specialist Advocacy Worker

Morgan Hunt Recruitment is proud to be working with The Elfrida Society to find a dedicated Specialist Advocacy Worker. This role is a fantastic opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of adults and parents with learning disabilities and/or mental health struggles.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support parents through the complexities of parenting, ensuring they have the necessary tools and resources to navigate the system.
  • Advocate on behalf of parents in child protection, care proceedings, and court hearings, ensuring their voice is heard and their rights are protected.
  • Work closely with parents to understand their needs and develop personalized support plans to help them achieve their goals.
  • Collaborate with other professionals to ensure a comprehensive and coordinated approach to supporting parents and their families.

Requirements:

  • Experience in advocacy or a related field, preferably with a focus on learning disabilities and/or mental health.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust and rapport with parents and other stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a flexible and adaptable approach to meeting the needs of parents and their families.
  • Knowledge of relevant laws, policies, and procedures, with a commitment to upholding the rights and dignity of parents and their families.
