We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Site Manager to lead our commercial project in South East London.

Job Summary:

  • This is a fantastic opportunity to join 1st Step Solutions as a Mechanical Site Manager, overseeing the management and success of our commercial project located in South East London.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing leadership and energy on-site.
  2. They will ensure that the mechanical works run to strict programme targets.
  3. Maintenance of strict quality control procedures is also crucial to this role.
  4. The Site Manager will lead regular site meetings with all interested parties.
  5. They will report on site progress to the project manager.
  6. A two-week look ahead will need to be produced and managed by the successful candidate.
  7. Managing sub-contractors to maintain programme targets is a key aspect of this role.
  8. The Site Manager will assist with commissioning and handover.
  9. Reviewing the scope of works and producing RAMS documents where required is also necessary.
  10. Technical submittals of all equipment/packages under guidance of the project manager will be issued by the successful candidate.
  11. Maintenance of all required site documentation/permits/plant registers is essential.
  12. Regular site safety checks will be conducted by the Site Manager.
  13. Becoming proactive in identifying and resolving problems is a must for this role.
  14. The successful candidate will review methods of working, alternative materials etc. in order to maximise commercial profitability.
  15. Implementing and maintaining the Company's Policies for Sustainability, Health and Safety, Quality, Environmental, Training and Development and acting as an exemplar of the Company culture and values is also required.
  16. Any other duties relevant to the role will be assigned to the Site Manager.

Requirements:

  1. The successful candidate will require relevant Mechanical trade qualifications.
  2. A current, valid CSCS skill card is essential.
  3. SMSTS/SSSTS qualification is also necessary.
  4. Experience of a similar role working for a Tier 1 M&E Contractor is desirable.
  5. Strong leadership and management skills are essential for this role.
